I am a new member of ExpatsHungary. I just saw that your question has not been answered yet.
In short the answer is that there is a double taxation treaty between Hungary and the U.S. to avoid paying both taxes. The specific rules depend on the details of your assignment, so if the topic is still current we can discuss the details in a private message.

I am a US citizen contemplating moving to Hungary to work for a US company there. Can you tell me how this will affect taxes? Do I pay US taxes on my income, Hungarian taxes, or both?
