Question title: Approximate cost of living (basics)

I am having the same challenge mving from Switzerland. I used this program: http://www.erieri.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=ERIRA.Main&trkid=696-26. This compares cost of living. Cities starting with A or B (Budapest) are free. I am moving from Zurich but used Bern for comparison. Maybe this trick also works for you. Adjust the tax values manually.

Hi Dan,Apologies for the late response, I did not receive an email notification of your question.

I'm not going to be much help to you I'm afraid.
All I can do is draw a comparison with the United Kingdom.
In my opinion eating out in Hungary is cheaper than the UK.
But food in Supermarkets is probably more expensive than the UK.

I'm afraid I have no idea as to the cost of ballet, gymnastics and piano lessons.

Tennis lessons probably a touch cheaper than the UK.

Gym membership 30% cheaper than UK ( my guestimate)

If you are here already I hope you are finding the cost of living to your liking.

Best regards,
Richard

My family and I may be moving to Hungary soon on a business assignment that may last up to 5 years. I was wondering what would be the APPROX cost of FOOD + Children Activities (Ballet, Gymnastics, Piano lessons...) + Adult Activities (Tennis Membership, Gym Membership...) for the family of 4? We're used to eating out quite often (3+ times per week, but we can change that.

At this point, I am mainly interested in the APPROXIMATE price range for what we're looking for. I estimated it to be around 2000E/month. Am I totally out of range?

Thank you in advance,

D. Radic
