Hi Tony, Demand for oil is high. It will take many years until we are able to wean ourselves off it to the extent that prices fall to levels where the big oil companies find it difficult to make healthy profits. So BP shares and other oil company shares could be good long term investments. However I am not an Oil analyst and therefore am not qualified to give tips in this sector. The only advice I would give is to do the research and if you buy shares don’t over expose yourself to a specific sector, diversify.

I would like to own some oil stocks even though the price of crude is coming down at this time. Would BP be a good long term investment at this time? Do you have any other recommendations at this time?
