The City Taxi Transport Arrangement Co-operative (it’s okay, you can just call us City Taxi) was established in 1983, and it was one of the first private taxi companies in Hungary. Since the 90’s the Company’s most important aim has been to provide a high quality service and to always react first to the needs of the market. To achieve this aim we continuously develop our motor pool, we train our drivers and we also operate a strict internal code of practice.
Through continuous growth, the number of our sub-contracted drivers has reached 750 and the members of the co-operative has reached more than 500. The fact that so many of our drivers are actually members of the co-operative guarantees a very high quality of service. The possibility that is our sub-contractors could be future members also motivates them to emulate that service standard.
This kind of approach, which is totally different from any other taxi company on the Budapest market, has helped keep City Taxi a market leader over the last 3 decades. Thanks to efficient internal process and the optimal number of cars, City Taxi can reach more addresses, more quickly than our competitors. Without wishing to sound like we’re over-careful with it comes to quality but we have a standards committee that checks on punctuality and efficiency of service, 24 hours a day. The committee also checks on the drivers and cars too to ensure both are well presented at all times.
In 2003 the City Taxi Transport Arrangement Co-operative was awarded an MSZ EN ISO 9001:2001 quality assurance certificate. We were the first taxi company to be awarded such a quality standard and we have successfully renewed our certification each year since then.
City Taxi’s entire fleet of cars has had credit card terminals fitted since 2007. Wherever you are and even if you don’t have cash on you, you can always use our services and pay by card.
Our dispatch centre always has English speaking operators on duty and although our drivers aren’t all fluent in English, they do their best to communicate and are always polite and courteous.
