Hi Erinna,

You might want to check out the Budapest Toastmasters Club, they have meetings once a week which can be very social at times and a good place to meet other expats. Regular meetings will resume late August because of a short summer break. For more info log onto btc.expatshungary.com . The club also intends to hold some strictly social events in the fall.

Another good place to socialize is Becketts Irish Bar where lots of friendly expats hang out. Check out their web site, they have a banner on this portal.

Hi,

I have recently moved to Hungary. I live in Vonyarcvashegy but do go to Budapest every so often. I was wondering if there are any social groups of English speaking people around or close to Lake Balaton or in Budapest. I am learning Hungarian slowly. Would be nice to have a laugh and socialise in English a bit though.
