Hello John,

It's really easy to meet people in Budapest, especially expats. For sure it's a really friendly city. Now that the weather is turning nice you will see more on the sidewalk/outdoor cafe's and coffee houses.

From my own experience, Budapesttoastmasters.org is a great place to meet new people. Good pubs are BECKETTS, CALEDONIA, CHAMPS, THE RING CAFE, WINE and COFFEE.If you looking for a specific activity, try posting it here in this forum. Another good place to meet people are the Health Clubs, like GOLD'S GYM of the new one opening soon, WORLD CLASS FITNESS. There are a great many chamber of commerce's too, German, French, Irish, Italian, Canadian, British, etc.

Another sure way to meet new and friendly people is to enroll in a Hungarian Language Courses at one of the many language schools. The HLS and www.Interclub.hu are both excellent choices.

Good luck and welcome to Hungary!

Has anyone on this board met with anyone else from here? I would think this could be a great resource for people to meet and make new friends. Any experiences?

Hey, I just moved here too, so I'd love to hear how to meet expats around here too!

Hello expats, I just moved here and am wondering if there are any meetings of expats in Budapest that I could attend. I am still trying to get the hang of things here and meet some people. Also any advice on fittness swimming pools or clubs would be great. Are there triathlons in Hungary? Thanks for any help.
