Hi everyone,57. Kata on July 3, 2010, 6:55 pm
I am just moving back to Hungary from India. I won`t be an expat in Hungary, but I am seeking English speaking friends for my daughters (8 and 5 years old). They studied in India in an American school, and would like to maintain their English.
I think they can play together at the weekends...
Hi Like all new visitors to Budapest I am short of people to hang out with, I am currently working between the UK and Budapest, having spent the last two years working in Dubai.56. Smouty on July 2, 2010, 12:10 pm

Hi all, I just arrived here in Budapest and I will be around for a month or so. I'm looking for fun and easy-going people to go places with as it's not so much fun on your own! If anyone is interested in hanging out for a while then please get in touch. I'm also interested in learning a bit of Hungarian as I can only say a few phrases so far (badly) so English and Hungarian speakers are all welcome!52. Irene on June 4, 2010, 12:55 pm
Take care, Irene

So --- where's the form to complete?51. Gary Lukatch on May 18, 2010, 10:00 am
Dear Rami,50. tunde on May 13, 2010, 4:00 pm
I randomly chose some persons from the expats' forum who probably could help me: I put my questionnaire on the expats forum page.
However, here it is a reminder.
Dear Expats,
I am an assistant professor at Corvinus University of Budapest. This June there will be an Erasmus Staff meeting with representatives from various European universities in Budapest on 9 June 2010. I was invited to hold a presentation there. As everybody chose a theoretical topic concerning cross-cultural issues, I decided to talk about something more practical,
The title of my presentation will be “How to be an alien in Hungary”.
In my presentation I am going to analyse the difficulties faced by foreign students and expats who are living, working, and studying in our country. I also intend to investigate how living, studying and working here changes their life-styles and improves their intercultural awareness.
My survey thus serves a double purpose.
On the one hand I am curious about how foreigners see our country; on the other hand I believe that it might help us improve the image of the country.
The survey seeks to learn about the various outcomes of intercultural experiences. I am curious about how the level of intercultural competence that is developed in the host country affects visitors’ lifestyle choices, and whether this has an impact, in turn, on communities and other individuals after they have returned home.
Please complete and return this form if you have the time. I would be very grateful if you could write a few words about your personal experience.
Thanks for your helpfulness in advance.

Hello everyone! I just moved here a couple of weeks ago, and I would like to meet more people, preferably people who can speak English. I've read some of these posts and I thought it would be nice to have a group of us meet at a cafe soon so we could meet each other and share our experiences in Budapest. If you are interested, please let me know so that we can arrange a time and a place. Warm wishes to you all, and I hope to hear from some of you soon.46. Megan on May 10, 2010, 9:34 am

I’m not an ex-pat but a 40-something Brit facing the somewhat intimidating prospect of Christmas in Budapest (18th-28th). Would love to escape the in-laws (love ‘em dearly but the days really are sufficient), the TV, the Hungarian language and the dreaded bejgli for a drink with perhaps one or more similarly stranded soul(s) for an evening or two. Any takers?41. Martin on December 10, 2009, 12:10 am
